What is the Nintex Module?
The Nintex Module is a module for Collaboration Manager 2010/2013/2016 OnPremise for SharePoint Server and Foundation and is responsible for the roll-out of Nintex Workflows in new or existing workspaces.
The module first takes the created workflows contained in a template and saves them in the template file of the Collaboration Manager. When a workspace is created with Collaboration Manager, the module will attach the workflows to the lists, libraries and content-types of the new site after the creation process. Additionally the Nintex Module always keeps the workflows up-to-date with the template.
Does everyone who uses Nintex also need the Nintex Module?
No, many customers do not use Nintex in their templates. However, the combination of Nintex and Collaboration Manger is often used. Please note that Nintex is mostly used only to optimize the processes concerning the workspace list and template library, so the workspace creation is complemented by an authorization. For this purpose the Nintex Module is not necessary.
With the purchase of the Nintex Module you also offer standard support. Does this mean I will get support for Nintex?
No, the support is exclusively for the Nintex Module. The support only includes the saving, roll-out and synchronization of the workflow. Problems with the configuration of Nintex or the communication with Nintex concerning bugs etc. is not included and requires a service contingent from Solutions2Share.
What do I have to consider when using the Nintex Module?
First of all it is important to know which SharePoint version and which authentication method you are using. The Nintex Module is available for SharePoint 2010, 2013 and 2016. It is compatible with forms authentication, NTLM and Azure Active Directory. For every authentication method and SharePoint version there is a separate WSP. If you buy the Nintex Module with standard support all versions of the module will be included.
Is there a Nintex Module for SharePoint Online and Office 365?
At the moment there is no module available for SharePoint Online and Office 365. Nintex is currently working on a new workflow engine for the cloud. Our long-term plan is the usage of the new workflow engine with our product.
